Jennalee Hedges, age 91 of Marion/Green Camp, Ohio died Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by her family at Wyndmoor of Marion.

Jenny was born on November 29, 1933 in Marion County, the daughter of the late Joseph Clyde Ward and Ivanell Monetta (Pace) Ward. She graduated from Green Camp High School with the class of 1951.

Jenny married her soulmate, Kenny in 1953 and had celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary before Kenny’s death in 2009.

Jenny and Kenny, together, raised a family of four children; Karen (Mark) Freyhof, Kevin (Nancy) Hedges, Jodi (Gary) Porter and Kelly (Andreas) Hedges-Wehner. They have six grandchildren, Stacie (Matt) Eaton, Lori (Moose) Powell, Brandon (Kristen) Hedges, Brett (Kristin) Hedges, Brian (Sara) Porter, Andrew (Annie) Porter and twelve great grandchildren, Hannah Vitek, Brantley and Keaton Powell; Cora, Brynlee and Bodhi Hedges; Jalen Hedges; Lizzie, Emma and Ben Porter; Cohen and Crew Porter.

Jenny spent the majority of her life in the medical field doing what she loved the most-caring for people. She was a friend to all. She retired from the Smith Clinic after 35+ years.

Jenny and Kenny were both life long members of the Green Camp United Methodist Church. They both sang in the choir and were involved in activities and groups within the church. They set a beautiful example of Christian faith for their children and grandchildren/great grandchildren.

Jenny will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Jenny was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Ward and wife, Donna. Her living brother and sister-in-law are Steven and Karen Ward.

The Hedges family will greet friends and family from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Snyder Funeral Home, Denzer Chapel, 360 E. Center St. Marion, Ohio.

A service celebrating the wonderful life of Jenny Hedges will be on Thursday, January 9, 2025 @ 10AM at Green Camp United Methodist Church, 205 Broadway, Green Camp, Ohio. Burial will follow at Green Camp Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to Wyndmoor of Marion and Gentiva Hospice, Marion. The Hedges family appreciates all the love and care that was given to our mom. Wyndmoor was mom’s “home” for the last 8 years.
