Green Camp United Methodist Church is gearing up for its annual Giving Tree mission, heartwarming initiative that brings joy and support to families in need within the local community. This year, the church is sponsoring a family from the Green Camp community - a single mother with three children.
The centerpiece of the Giving Tree mission is the Angel Tree, which will be located in the church Narthex starting next Sunday. The tree will be adorned with ornaments, each containing gift ideas for the family in need. Congregants and community members are invited to select an ornament from the tree, purchase the suggested gift, and return it to the church to be given to the family.
This initiative not only provides tangible support to a family facing challenges but also fosters a sense of community spirit and generosity among the church members and beyond. The act of giving during the holiday season is a powerful way to spread love and kindness, and the Giving Tree mission at Green Camp UMC Church exemplifies the true spirit of Christmas.
A deadline to bring gifts to the church and a date for gift-wrapping will be set next month. With questions, please contact Heather Treadaway or email the church at info@greencampumc.org.
